Bond 25 script still incomplete says Fukunaga

19-Nov-2018 • No Time To Die

In a new interview with the The Inquirer, Cary Fukunaga has praised Daniel Craig, Christoph Waltz and Ben Whishaw, but also revealed that the Bond 25 script is still a work in progress. Shooting is schedulled to start in March next year.

Fukunaga's most memorable Bond film was 'A View To A Kill', the finale of which takes place in the San Francisco Bay Area, the director's home town. That fact, plus the music meant Roger Moore's swansong make an impact on a younger Cary. "To me, Duran Duran’s Bond theme song was probably one of the best Bond songs ever, because I love Duran Duran."

For the director, 'Casino Royale' allowed Craig to show Bond's "vulnerability and humanity" which he says is a diversion from the Brosnan era.

He was also quizzed about bringing back Blofeld (Waltz) and Q (Whishaw). He shot down rumours they had been rejected, saying "We haven’t finished the screenplay, so there is no way that anyone could know that [they weren't in the script]. Those are two extraordinary actors, so if there is space for them in the story, I would absolutely want them there. But I don’t know yet what it’s going to be."
