Just days after British director Danny Boyle was surprisingly announced as a front-runner to helm the 25th James Bond film, the 'Trainspotting' helmer is eyeing another project, too.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Director Danny Boyle and Love Actually screenwriter Richard Curtis are teaming for an untitled comedy just set up at Universal. Details are being kept under lock and key, but it is known to be musically themed and set in the 1960s or '70s. Universal is eyeing a shoot as early as this summer, if the casting can come together."
If the project gets traction, it may stall his chances on Bond 25.
"Insiders say that this music-inspired comedy will be Boyle's next movie," the report continues. "If Bond producer Eon Productions does want Boyle, it will have to wait and potentially even shift the pic's release date of Nov. 8, 2019."
