Sir Roger Moore talks of dropping Connery's famous phrase

Shaken, not stirred. A line made famous by Sean Connery's exploits as James Bond on the silver screen. But when Roger Moore took over the tuxedo, his incarnation of Ian Fleming's super spy would deliberately avoid the phrase.

Talking about his early discussions with director Guy Hamilton about taking over the role in the 1973 film "Live And Let Die", Moore told Empire magazine: "We talked about my approach to the character."

"The thing he wanted to avoid was any deliberate comparison to Sean, apart from the fact I was playing the same character."

"So I was never saying 'Martini, shaken not stirred'."
