Scotland to use 'Skyfall' to lure visitors to the Highlands
The Scottish Highlands will feature in a global marketing campaign to bring more visitors to Britain to coincide with the release of the James Bond film Skyfall.
Government funded tourism body VisitBritain is hoping to cash in on interest in the film starring Daniel Craig, which opens in October and was partly shot in the region.
It is marketing 2013 as the Year of Natural Scotland to counter the idea that Britain lacks the rugged landscapes other European countries have to offer.
The launch of the drive next month is the latest stage of a four-year, £100 million marketing campaign aimed at securing a permanent boost to visitor numbers.
Craig, and Dame Judi Dench, who plays security boss M, filmed at Dalness Lodge in Glen Etive, with a mock up of the property reportedly being blown up in the film. The property was owned by the family of Bond's creator Ian Fleming.
The production also shot scenes near the White Corries in Glencoe, with Bond's famous Aston Martin DB5 featuring.
