Sir Roger Moore rates Daniel Craig as 'best actor', tabloids confused

28-Aug-2012 • Bond News

It's usually politicians who moan about being quoted out of context, but seven-times James Bond star Sir Roger Moore also has grounds to complain about the latest flurry of internet headlines.

In a Daily Mail piece to promote his new book "Bond On Bond", Moore describes the actors who have played the role and was very complimentary to MI6's current employee Daniel Craig.

He said: "I loved Casino Royale and Daniel Craig. He is a wonderful actor, certainly the best actor to play Bond. Craig also has the best build of any Bond."

Unfortunately, almost every online news outlet (including the likes of the BBC) misunderstood this and have run headlines claiming that Moore thinks Craig "is the best Bond ever". Sir Sean Connery may have dropped his cereal spoon when perusing the morning papers at breakfast.

Moore was also critical of the last outing, adding: "I believe that Skyfall is going to have a lot more humour in it than Quantum of Solace did, something I’ll be pleased to see."
