Collected amongst the documents are Canadian-born Saltzman's oath of allegiance to the United States, dating from 1939; a letter from the director of the U.S. Office of War Information (O.W.I.) to G. Howland Shaw, assistant secretary of state, discussing Saltzman's assignment; and a follow up letter in which it is suggested that Saltzman be posted to London on official business.
