`Die Another Day`s Vanquish and other Bond cars on display in new Korean exhibition

29-Dec-2003 • Event

The Aston Martin Vanquish V12 that featured in "Die Another Day" will be the star of a new car show - launched in Korea this week.

They will be on display along with 58 other exotic vehicles in Indian Hall at COEX, the nation`s biggest exhibition and convention center. The event, called the "Hollywood Motor Show," organized by Volt Entertainment, and will run through Jan. 4, 2004.

Presented under the theme "Meet the Super Cars of Hollywood," the Vanquish, eight other fascinating James Bond cars from the 007 film series and four super cars from "Gone in Sixty Seconds" will excite and entertain. Adding velocity to the fun will be the Lamborghini Diablo from "Dumb and Dumber," the time machine Delorean from "Back to the Future" and the car with a toothbrush for a windshield wiper from "Mr.Bean."

This show is not just for adults. Children will be thrilled by the Ford Anglia, which Harry used in his escape in the movie "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets." They will be taken on a trip from fantasy to reality in the Ninja Turtles Van from "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," the pink limousine from "Pink Panther" and the Flinstone`s family car. Another sight that is not to be missed is the Marilyn Monroe Tribute Car, a convertible with a Marilynn Monroe hood ornament.

Volt Entertainment has spent the last two years searching for the vehicles` owners and organizing the exhibition. A notable difference between this and the typical motor show is that there is no commercial angle. Another major difference is the value of the collection. This show`s cars are rare vehicles; the total cost of the 60 super cars is around $100 million.
This motor show, unprecedented for its "stars" will also be acclaimed for the number of not only Koreans but also foreigners who attend.
This show should set an example for the domestic automobile industry as well as for overseas manufacturers on how to attract and keep the public`s attention.

Tickets are 9,000 won ($7.50) for students, 12,000 won for adults.
