'Skyfall' breaks $100m in USA with record Monday, UK aims at 'Avatar' records
As well as breaking
opening weekend records for the franchise in the USA, "Skyfall" more than doubled its usual Monday takings at the box office and broke the $100m+ mark in just 4 days.
In large part due to Veterans Day being a government holiday, "Skyfall" racked up $11.3m on Monday alone, which is 275% up on "Quantum of Solace".
Strong word of mouth, a CinemaScore of 'A', and a 91% 'Liked' rating on RottenTomatoes is helping boost audiences.
Back in the UK, the film now stands at $117.5m and has become the highest grossing film of 2012. But the stretch goal is surely the all time UK box office record, currently held by "Avatar" with $150m. Another strong weekend will put it in reach.
