Back to #1 in the USA - 'Skyfall' regains top spot from 'Twilight'

06-Dec-2012 • Skyfall

Following on from its return to the top spot in the UK last weekend (and subsequently breaking the record for the highest grossing film at the British box-office of all time), "Skyfall" has repeated the feat in America.

"Skyfall" was the #1 film in the USA & Canada on Tuesday where is scooped $1,506,461, beating "Twilight" down to the #2 spot with $1,442,037.

Despite the final installment of the teen vampire franchise being released two weeks after 007, Bond has got better legs and sold more tickets for 3,463 engagements versus "Twilight"s wider 4,008.

Both "Life of Pi" and "Lincoln" are also doing steady business, and each took $1.3m on Tuesday.

This weekend looks like it will be another battle of Bond versus Bella as the only new wide release is the ensemble comedy "Playing for Keeps".
