Keira Knightley doesn't snub Bond girls and praises Sam Mendes for 'Skyfall'
The "Pirates" star, Keira Knightley, is currently promoting her new period piece "Anna Karenina", and somehow the topic turned to 007.
She commented that not many blockbuster films are character-driven, with a notable exception of Christopher Nolan's films. "I loved what he [Nolan] did with all of those films," she says of the "Batman" and "Inception" helmsman.
"And what Sam Mendes did with 'Skyfall', you know itâs taking those kinds of massive films and going, 'Look, you can really have some interesting characters.'"
When asked the inevitable question about being a Bond girl, Knightly says: "Can I be a Judi Dench Bond girl? Iâd like to be a Judi Dench Bond girl. That would be fun."
