Whishaw talks 'Bond 24' timeline and hints at a 6th Bond for Craig

19-Feb-2013 • Spectre (2015)

Despite earlier reports that EON Productions are coaxing Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes back for a second consecutive adventure, and that the director's schedule may push production back to as late as 2014, Ben Whishaw is expecting production to ramp on Bond 24 sooner rather than later.

He suggests that production should commence approximately 10 months, and that Craig has signed on for a further three 007 adventures. The latest word from Craig himself was that he would do at least 5 Bond films. Could a sixth be on the cards?

MI6 understands that Whishaw has the standard three picture deal, optioned through to Bond 25, which would tie in neatly with the earlier news that Craig had extended his contract through to Bond 25.

"I know that he’s doing the next three so I’m not thinking beyond that. We’ve got to just get through those first," Whishaw told RadioTimes at a press event for "Cloud Atlas".

Whishaw offered the caveat to all his comments, clearly feeling he'd revealed too much, by saying: "Well, hopefully. Let's hope so!"
