Olga Kurylenko: 'Bond wasn't my goal. It just happened'
The Ukranian star of "Quantum of Solace" recently reflected on her career and her brush with Bond in an interview with
Metro.
Although, in contrast to Berenice Marlohe's well-documented campaign to become a Bond girl, Kurylenko says that becoming a Bond girl wasn't a big dream, she does admit that she was keen to make the move from modelling to acting as quickly as possible:
âWith modelling, you go somewhere for 24 hours and you donât even see the city, you donât talk to people or see the culture. I didnât keep any friends, because you canât make friends. Itâs very difficult. Also, apart from work, they all hang out in modelling crowds and parties. I never did. I didnât feel I belonged there.â
She's becoming a recognised face in Hollywood, but despite this, Kurylenko prefers to make her life outside of America. "When Iâm in America, I feel like Iâm so far away from my roots, and here I donât â Iâm European. Just walking on the street in London makes you feel like everything has a meaning," she says of London, her new adopted home.
