Screenwriter John Logan hints at complex characters in Bond 24
In an interview with
The Telegraph, American screenwriter John Logan talks about his latest project to bring two stars from 'Skyfall' - Dame Judi Dench and Ben Whishaw - back together on the stage.
As you would expect, there was also talk of 007.
"[Logan] broke with Bond tradition by whipping up a homoerotic charge between Daniel Craigâs captive 007 and Javier Bardemâs louche rogue agent and also by making the encounter unusually protracted. âWhen I wrote that scene â two men speaking in a room for 10 pages â I thought 'Thereâs no way weâre going to be able to do this,â but Sam Mendes said 'Yes, go for itâ and I think the audience really embraced it.â
"He has signed up to script two more films, even though Mendes has stepped aside from the next one, citing other commitments, and promises more where that came from: âThere are lots more ideas for Bond I want to explore,â he enthuses. âWe can deal in a complex way with these characters.â
