Sir Sean Connery saves the pennies on a golf caddy and gets an earful

23-Jan-2004 • Actor News

Rumour has it that Sir Sean Connery is a wee bit careful with his pennies.

A local Scottish tale started last year when Sir Sean was at St Andrews, partnering Michael "The Dimple" Douglas in a round of golf. But while The Dimple hired a caddy, Sir Sean opted to push his own trolley, thus saving forty pounds.

After his tee shot, The Dimple turned to his caddy for advice, which was happily given and resulted in a pitch to the green.

On reaching his ball, Sir Sean turned to the caddy and asked him which club he would recommend.

"How the f*** would I know? Why don`t you ask your trolley?" said the caddy.

There is no faithful record of Sir Sean`s response.
