Tom Ford's 2014 collection inspired by James Bond
Fashion designer Tom Ford has used his work on the last James Bond film "Skyfall" as inspiration for his 2014 collection. Ford worked closely with 007 star Daniel Craig in pre-production on the movie to create Bond's iconic formal wear.
"Our jacket base this season is a development of the one we created for Daniel Craig in Bond," explains Tom Ford as the first foursome of models circle out into his label's London showroom.
GQ reports that "the slim cut of the tailoring was once again contrasted beautifully with impressively substantial Seventies inspired lapels ("Despite the fact none of these models were even born in the Eighties!"). The presentation was topped off by a superb selection of evening wear with flashes of both block colour and embroidered floral jacquard. The final model entered the room sporting a beautiful purple and black shawl collar DJ, classic black trousers and...a foot brace. "And here's Igor sporting our latest accessory," Tom announced, pointing out the model's specially customised black crutches topped with velvet cushioning. "Consider this our Helmut Newton moment!"
