Timothy Dalton rumoured for role in new Batman/Superman movie

The two time 007 star, Timothy Dalton, has had his name thrown into the casting rumours for the new Batman/Superman film. Henry Cavill will return as Superman and Batman will - controversially - be played by Ben Affleck.

Following in the wake of Affleck's casting, director Zack Snyder is understood to be looking at Dalton for the role of Alfred, an insider told Comic Book Movie. Alfred was previously played by Michael Caine, who came to prominence as a screen actor in Lewis Gilbert's "Alfie".

The film is expected to open on July 17, 2015.
