William Boyd cites Daniel Day-Lewis as a model Bond
The author of the latest 007 adventure, "Solo", has pitched in with his suggestion for a more Fleming-esque casting.
"Daniel Day-Lewis actually resembles the Bond that Fleming describes. He was a tall, lean, rangy, very dark-haired, good-looking man. There's a sense that image is what he saw his Bond looking like," Boyd told the
Independent.
The author, who is clearly an avid fan of Fleming's work, described the multimillion dollar film franchise as moving "further and further away from Flemingâs Bond". The latest on-screen adventure has nods to 007's heritage, and to Fleming's work.
