Bond girl Rosamund Pike to voice Lady Penelope in 'Thunderbirds' relaunch
The classic 1960s television show 'Thunderbirds' is undergoing a relaunch for the 21st century under the new moniker 'Thunderbirds Are Go!'
Bond girl Rosamund Pike has been cast to voice the iconic character Lady Penelope for the newly rebooted series.
âIâm very excited to bring Lady Penelopeâs wry wit and taste for adventure to a new generation,â Pike commented. âExploring the scenes with David Graham has been an absolute delight. The scripts are very modern, very fresh and very funny. Weâre all eagerly anticipating our next stint in the recording studio!â
David Graham will reprises his vocal role as her chauffeur Parker from the original 1965 series. Fonejacker Kayvan Novak will play boffin Brains, with Game of Thronesâ Thomas Brodie-Sangster as both International Rescue brothers Gordon and John Tracy. Also cast are Rasmus Hardiker (Lead Balloon) as both Alan and Scott Tracy, David Menkin as Virgil, Sandra Dickinson (The Hitchhikerâs Guide to the Galaxy) as Grandma Tracy and Andres Williams (M.I. High) as villain The Hood. New characters Kayo and Colonel Casey will be voiced by Merlinâs Angel Coulby and Doctor Whoâs Adjoa Andoh.
The new series will use a blend of CGI animation and live miniature sets and is written by Rob Hoegee and directed by LEGO Star Warsâ David Scott. It will debut on ITV in the UK in 2015.
