Scottish exhibition showcases Glencoe's role in 'Skyfall'
Glencoe's starring role in the Bond movie Skyfall is being showcased at an exhibition at a visitor centre in the Highland glen itself.
Key scenes in the most successful film in the Bond franchise â including the dramatic finale â were filmed on land owned and cared for by conservation charity the National Trust for Scotland.
The trustâs Glencoe Visitor Centre will be running the exhibition until the end of March next year, ensuring visitors to the area can follow in actor Daniel Craigâs foosteps and to taop into the growing âfilm tourismâ market.
Visitors will learn more about the locations and how CGI was used to create buildings that donât really exist â at least not in Glencoe.
Trust Ranger Rachel McKerral, who âstarredâ as M in the Trustâs own remake of the famous publicity shot featuring Daniel Craig, Dame Judi Dench and the iconic vintage Aston Martin in Glen Etive, said: âGlencoeâs starring role in Skyfall has definitely helped attract new visitors to the area and itâs brilliant to be able to give them a taste of what went on behind the scenes.
âItâs a really fun display and visitors love being able to follow in Bondâs footsteps.â
Mike Cantlay, Chairman of VisitScotland, said: âScotland continues to prove that it really is the ultimate film set.â
The exhibition is open daily until 31 October and then Thursday until Sunday from 1 November to 31 March 2014.
