Pierce Brosnan`s pivitol pre-007 show `Remington Steele` coming soon on DVD, late 2004

30-Jan-2004 • Actor News

"Remington Steele" was one of Pierce Brosnan`s most notable roles, before taking over as the current 007. The show ran on NBC from 1st October 1982 until 17th February 1987, would also prove to be Brosnan`s contractual ball and chain, and the reason why Timothy Dalton took over from Roger Moore as the fourth Bond in "The Living Daylights" (click here to read the TLD Production Notes for more details on the Dalton/Brosnan history).

The show followed the tales of private detectives Laura Holt (Stephanie Zimbalist) and Remington Steele (Brosnan) in Los Angeles.

Now the show that brought Brosnan`s fame and fortune across the Pond may be coming to DVD.

Fox Home Video`s main man for DVD development, Sr. VP Peter Staddon, gave a two online talk with The Home Theater Forum earlier this month.

Mr. Staddon was asked about Pierce Brosnan`s "Bond-inspiring" role in Remington Steele. Staddon replied that "One of the guys in the office has been pestering us for six months straight to release (Remington)", indicating that the show had support from "inside".

The rest of the response went on to say that Remington Steele WILL be released, and that the timeframe is "probably later this year" (2004).
