David Harewood on Bond and 'Spooks'
David Harewood, the British actor who made his name across the pond in "Homeland" chatted recently about his upcoming role in the MI5 action/drama "Spooks: The Greater Good".
He plays a character known only as Warrender and has kept his cards close to his chest when it comes to his involvement in the spin-off movie. "The Spooks fans are just going to be salivating," the actor teased. "The shots of London look fantastic." Harewood elaborated on how the series in making the leap from big to small screen: "It's like an episode of Spooks but with dynamite underneath it."
He recently completed work on director Tom Stoppard's "Tulip Fever", the new film starring Bond villain Christoph Waltz and 007's long-serving "M", Judi Dench. Of the actress, Harewood adds: "It was brilliant working with Judi. She was very giggly, very very giggly and prone to laughing throughout takes."
And as the subject of a black Bond is popular with the tabloids, inevitably the question came up. Harewood,
unlike Koto, brushed it off without talking about race. "I'm far too old, I don't think that role's going to me."
