Rory Kinnear talks about SPECTRE and his work on stage for 'The Trial'

18-Jun-2015 • Actor News

In a new interview with The Standard, Rory Kinnear revealed his familiar role as Tanner to Daniel Craig's James Bond is one of the constants in his life at present.

As the father of a newborn, appearing on stage in "The Trial", and night shoots for Bond, Kinnear has his work cut out.

“This is the first straight run of a play I’ve done since my children were born,” said the actor.

Speaking of the night shoots SPECTRE has called for, Kinnear said: “We finish about 5am, then I’ve asked for 11am or noon starts here [in the theatre].”

Of his character in the Bond film, the actor remarks: “Tanner remains stable. That’s what he’s there for: he’s just the table on which to rest things.”

And even with the departure of Dame Judi Dench, Mendes has attracted a number of prolific stage actors to the silver screen. “Our gang of good guys — Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, myself and now Andrew Scott — have all spent quite a bit of time on the London stage.”
