High stakes betting on 'SPECTRE' title song
Sam Mendes recently confirmed that the theme song for upcoming 24th Bond film 'SPECTRE' was recorded and fans wouldn't have to wait long to find out who is performing it.
This teaser sparked a slew of betting. William Hill reports that one anonymous punter put £15,000 on Radiohead to be announced as the title artist.
A William Hill spokesperson told the
NME: The first gamble of the day was Ellie Goulding and punters were backing her as if she already had the gig but just as we were thinking of pulling the plug we had a load of bets for Radiohead including one customer who asked to place a £15,000 bet on the band at 10/1."
The bookkeeper has now suspended betting, but at the time of closure they were offering the following odds:
Radiohead (6/4)
Sam Smith (2/1)
Ellie Goulding (4/1)
Adele (5/1)
Lana Del Rey (14/1)
Lorde (14/1)
Coldplay (33/1)
Ellie Goulding is currently the press's favourite for the role after she reportedly registered a song with BMI entitled "Spy".
Showbiz411 are speculating that this is a placeholder for the "SPECTRE" title song.
