'The World Is Not Enough' editor Jim Clark dies aged 84

Jim Clark (24 May 1931 – 25 February 2016) was a British film editor with more than forty feature film credits from 1956–2008. Clark also directed eight features and short films.

He edited the 1999 James Bond film 'The World Is Not Enough' for director Michael Apted.

His career in film began as a rewind boy on the classic Ealing comedy 'The Titfield Thunderbolt' before graduating to assistant editor in 1951.

He received an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award for the editing of 'The Killing Fields'; he received a second BAFTA Award for editing 'The Mission'. He was also nominated for BAFTA Awards for his editing of the films 'Vera Drake' and 'Marathon Man'. In 2005, he received the American Cinema Editors Career Achievement Award.

Clark's collaboration with director John Schlesinger extended over about sixteen years and eight films. 'Midnight Cowboy' (1969) and 'Marathon Man' (1976) are among their most recognized films.

He lived in Kensington with his wife Laurence Méry-Clark, also a film and television editor. They married in 1961 and had three children. In 2011 Clark's autobiography 'Dream Repairman: Adventures in Film Editing' was published.
