Colin Farrell is a `double-o-zero` when it comes to the next Bond, according to Pierce Brosnan

03-May-2004 • Casino Royale

Pierce Brosnan has told fellow Irishman Colin Farrell to Try Another Day if he wants to be the next James Bond, reports Ireland Online.

Brosnan, 50, who has played Bond in the last four films, told ITV1’s This Morning that Farrell was not right for the part of 007.

The show’s LA correspondent, Vickie Stokes, asked him: "What about Colin Farrell for 007?"

Brosnan replied: "Colin. No! I think he’s a great actor but I don’t think he’s right for Bond.

"Some of the names that will be top of my list are Clive Owen, who’s a fine actor, and Hugh Jackman, who is also a very fine actor," he said.

He added: "I was trained and led to believe that I could do anything and I’ve been pigeon holed.

"It’s time in my life to step outside the box."

Thanks to `Larry` for the alert.
