Sir Roger Moore launches Arrhythmia Awareness Week to raise profile of the heart condition he suffers from

26-May-2004 • Actor News

A British teenager is joining former 007 star Sir Roger Moore on a mission to make people more aware of the heart stopping disorder they both suffer from, reports NorthWest Evening Mail.

Dowdales pupil Sarah McClay, 15, of Low Farm Close, Lindal, UK, will team up with the suave James Bond star at the House of Commons this month to publicise Arrhythmia Awareness Week.

Both Sarah and Sir Roger have a heart arrhythmia, an abnormality of the heartbeat where the heart beats too quickly, too slowly, or irregularly.

It affects 700,000 people in the UK.

Sarah suffers from Reflex Anoxic Seizure, an unpredictable condition where any sudden shock or pain can cause her heart and breathing to stop and induce a seizure.

Thanks to `Stevie` for the alert.
