May the Force be with you, Mr Bond
Last night`s showing of "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" on ITV in the UK failed to pull in the viewers. Only 5.1 million people watched the film that starts a new series of movies on Wednesday nights for ITV.
ITV recently completed a season of Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton Bond films in the same Wednesday night slot. The media moguls were caught scratching their heads this morning wondering how the likes of 1979`s "Moonraker" can pull in far more viewers than Luke Skywalker`s adventures.
ITV reportedly paid an enormous figure for the rights to broadcast Star Wars compared to the relatively cheap Bond films.
