`Tomorrow Never Dies` stunt rider to appear at Beaulieu bike show, Hampshire, UK

16-Jun-2004 • Event

Beaulieu’s annual bike show (26-27 June), is now looming larger than ever on the events calendar. Situated in the extreme south of the country means that the south Hampshire show needs something special to attract bikers from north of Watford.

Well now it has, reports InsideBikes.com. What could be more special than booking World Stunt Champion Jean-Pierre Goy?

Forget the others. The French stunt ace is the one rider that all other motorcycle stunt performers want to emulate and dethrone.

If his world championship status isn’t enough then mention the James Bond films and everyone sits up and takes notice. The producers of 007 movies won’t film a stunt unless it is highly original and the most spectacular of its type – ever. Remember, Tomorrow Never Dies and one stunt in particular – Jean-Pierre Goy was the rider that jumped across rooftops over the lethally spinning blades of a helicopter on a BMW R1200 C cruiser (yes, cruiser!).

A stunt like that needs a motorcycle with the twin qualities of predictability and reliability. That’s why the stunt gaffers decided to use a BMW. And guess what? Jean-Pierre will be riding BMWs in his “definitely not to be missed” stunt show for his first-ever UK appearance at Beaulieu.

BMW Motorrad and its Alton-based Dealership SPC will enhance Jean-Pierre’s contribution by staging an impressive display of its range of bikes – including the ground-breaking R1200 GS. In addition to this, Jean-Pierre’s heroics should inspire anyone to try a BMW. Motorcycles from the current range will be available to test ride. Riders simply need to register at the SPC BMW Motorrad stand, show their licence together with any counterparts, be 21 years or over and take their pick of the range available. But please, just don’t try and take Jean-Pierre Goy on at his own game.

It is worth noting that Jean-Pierre Goy will be fully protected during his stunt riding by top quality BMW Rider Equipment. Naturally, a comprehensive selection from the range will also be on display on the SPC BMW Motorrad stand as will the new Navigator II GPS system.

Beaulieu Motorcycle World will also feature appearances by other bike sport stars and contain all the usual ingredients of a good motorcycle show. The event takes place during the weekend of 26 – 27 June at the Beaulieu Museum Events Field.

Thanks to `Ken` for the alert.
