MGM appoints new marketing president, will this help DAD and future film promotion?

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Appoints Peter Adee President of Worldwide Marketing Following Resignation of Bob Levin

Most would agree that the marketing of the recent Bond films has been below par compared to most Hollywood hype machines. This appointment will hopefully help "Die Another Day" through the tough release schedule surrounding Harry Potter II and Lord Of The Rings II.

MGM today issued a press release through PR Newswire about the appointment.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MGM Distribution Co., a unit of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. (NYSE: MGM), has hired veteran marketing executive Peter Adee to lead the Company`s worldwide theatrical marketing efforts for all major film releases, serving as President, Worldwide Marketing, effective immediately. In that capacity, he will be responsible for Publicity, Creative Advertising, Promotions, Research, Media, and related activities. The announcement was made today by Chris McGurk, Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer, to whom Mr. Adee will report.
