James Bond #6 favourite Clive Owen denies the 007 rumours

Oscar-nominee Clive Owen has shot down recent reports that he's a finalist for the role of James Bond in the upcoming Casino Royale. "They have never approached me," Owen reportedly advised tonight's episode of Access Hollywood. "It's nothing but a rumor."

Owen's next project will be director Wolfgang Petersen's remake of The Poseidon Adventure. He'll portray the role originally played by Gene Hackman

"Clive's thrilled. Even if he leaves (the Oscars) empty-handed, he'll be able to take great comfort from the fact Wolfgang wants him in the film," a source advised the site.

The Poseidon Adventure opens May 2006 - reports IGN.

Casino Royale is expected to be released in November 2006.
