UK - The Royal Windsor St. George`s Day Festival of Aston Martin, April 2005

07-Mar-2005 • Event

The Aston Martin Owners Club presents "The Royal Windsor St. George’s Day Festival Of Aston Martin"

You are invited to take part in an event, the like of which may never happen again. 200 or more of our cars, from the very earliest models to the very latest, together with former world-famous racing cars, and cars from James Bond films will assemble in Royal Windsor on St. George’s Day, Saturday April 23, before slowly motoring to Windsor Castle, through St. George’s Gate into the Royal Quadrangle passing a saluting Dais and thence slowly out of the Castle into “Frogmore”. A very special feature of this parade: it will be led all the way by St. George himself! On arriving at “Frogmore”, there will be time to relax and enjoy socialising with other Aston Owners. The Public will be admitted to review your cars, after they have paid £5 for a Souvenir Programme. They and you will enjoy a very special equestrian and military display put on by The Light Cavalry of The Honourable Artillery Company. After this an escorted drive through Windsor Great Park.

To make this an even more spectacular and memorable weekend, especially for members coming from Overseas and further afield in the UK, the Committee has arranged a fabulous programme. On Thursday April 21 a very special New Orleans Jazz cruise on the River Thames to Windsor Castle and back. On Friday an opportunity to enjoy the quiet haven of The Oakley Court Hotel set in 35 acres of Landscaped Gardens. An opportunity to experience real Steam Boat drama on the “S.L. Nuneham” a truly magnificent fully restored 1898 Steam Boat. In the evening, a wonderful Champagne Reception is arranged, in the magnificent splendour of the “Undercoft”, at Windsor Castle. On Saturday, the parade of all parades, culminating in a glittering 70th Anniversary Gala Dinner in the Windsor Suite of The Oakley Court Hotel, where a unique auction of “Aston Memorabilia” will be held. All proceeds going to The Prince Philip Trust Fund. On the Sunday, a “Fun Concours” will be organised on the poetic lawns of the Hotel, on the banks of the meandering River Thames. Expect some personalities here!
