UK TV - `Never Say Never Again` suffers lowest ratings in Ultimate Bond season

20-Apr-2005 • Bond News

ITV1's screening of "Never Say Never Again" on Friday 15th April 2005 suffered the lowest ratings for a James Bond movie during this year's "Ultimate Bond" season.

The film only pulled in 3.94 million UK television viewers - a 17.93% audience share.

The 1983 rival movie to Roger Moore's "Octopussy" is not generally considered part of the movie lineage as it was produced by Sony, and not Eon Productions, due to "Thunderball" co-writer Kevin McClory winning rights to remake the film.

ITV's "Ultimate Bond" season is now on a two week break due to the channel's reality show "Hell's Kitchen".

Previous weeks (audience share in brackets):
"A View To A Kill" - 4.04 million (18.64%)
"The Living Daylights" - 4.20 million (18.97%)
"Licence To Kill" - 4.20 million (18.92%)
"GoldenEye" - 4.73 million (22.1%)
"Tomorrow Never Dies" - 4.12 million (16.9%)
"The World Is Not Enough" - 5.72 million (25.4%)
"Die Another Day" - 6.3 million (29.1%)
