Ian Fleming`s `Chitty Chitty Bang Bang` makes Broadway premiere

"Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" made its American premiere at Broadway's Hilton Theatre (213 West 42nd Street), beginning previews on Sunday, March 27, 2005 and opening on Thursday, April 28, 2005 - reports Broadway World.

The most fantasmagorical stage musical in the history of everything currently plays: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at 7pm, Friday and Saturday at 8pm, with matinees on Wednesday at 2pm, Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at 3pm. Starting on July 5th, all evening performances will be at 7pm.

The cast of fifty in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" is led by Raúl Esparza as Caractacus Potts, Erin Dilly as Truly Scrumptious, Philip Bosco as Grandpa Potts, Marc Kudisch as Baron Bomburst, Jan Maxwell as Baroness Bomburst, Chip Zien as Goran, Robert Sella as Boris, Kevin Cahoon as the Childcatcher, Frank Raiter as the Toymaker and the children, Henry Hodges as Jeremy and Ellen Marlow as Jemima.

"Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" has music & lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. The original film, which was adapted for the screen by Roald Dahl from the novel by Ian Fleming (author of the James Bond novels), has been adapted for the stage by Jeremy Sams. "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" is directed by Adrian Noble, with musical staging by Gillian Lynne. The show features sets and costumes by Anthony Ward, lighting by Mark Henderson and sound design by Andrew Bruce. The orchestrations and dance arrangements are by Chris Walker and musical direction and supervision are by Robert Scott.
