James Bond movie vehicles Parahawk and Switchblade up for auction

31-May-2005 • Collecting

Two vehicles that featured in James Bond movies are up for auction this week.

The Switchblade is an ultra small, single person aircraft, with scale performance and appearance similar to a supersonic fighter aircraft and featured in the 2002 film "Die Another Day".. At the end of the flight, the pilot separates from the Switchblade, and the pilot and “blade” land using parachutes. The Switchblade is typically launched from another aircraft. The Switchblade’s wings fold in for launch or high-speed dives and spread in flight for cruise and manoeuvres.

The Parahawk (featured in the 1999 movie "The World Is Not Enough") is a powered parachute similar to a microlite but flown using a parachute instead of a wing. This is extremely easy to learn to fly and the seller can provide a full course to anyone who wants to fly it. The Parahawk was designed for taking off and landing on snow for the film and has had its undercarriage changed to allow it to take off and land in a small field.
