Pierce Brosnan studied Connery for the role

Pierce Brosnan studied Sean Connery as James Bond before he started portraying 007 accoring to a brief interview given to London`s Time Out magazine.

Brosnan said: "I learned from Connery. He is phenomenal. He knows the camera and he knows his strengths and he plays to them."

Brosnan also recently revealed that he ranks Connery as the all time best Bond.

"He puts the hard graft in there, working on character, studies the story. Ultimately that is all you can do. I try at least to do as good a job as Connery has."
