Brosnan will be back for Bond 21 `whether you like it or not`

30-Oct-2002 • Bond News

Pierce Brosnan has given an interview to OK! magazine where he finally puts an end to any doubts that he might be hanging up his Walther.

Q: Will your decision be at all based on how well this one plays with audiences?
A: "I`m going to do another one whether they love it or not (laughs). You dont like me? I dont care. I am going to come again to a theatre near you."

Q: Is DAD taking Bond in a different direction?
A: "He doesn`t know which way to turn and so his ass is hanging in the breeze in the story. He doesn`t know who to trust or who to go to, and he`s on the run... Purvis and Wade are good writers, and we have a good working relationship. We sit and talk about what emotional peak to pitch him at. There are certain confines to the character which make one rankle a little bit. So you go off and do something like "Tailor of Panama" and shed all that stuff. Playing him is kind of fustrating at times, but in this particular case, there was enough good stuff to play and an emotional thread that carries you through the seven months playing it."
