James Bond in top ten movie characters of all time poll

James Bond was beaten to the numbr one slot by Marlon Brando's role as Vito Corleone in 1972 flick 'The Godfather' - who has been voted the greatest movie character of all time in a new poll by Premiere magazine.

Brando's Oscar-winning performance in the classic by Francis Ford Coppola beat Humphrey Bogart's Fred C Dobbs from 1948 movie 'The Treasure of the Sierra Madre'.

Vivien Leigh's Scarlett O'Hara from 1939 movie 'Gone With The Wind' and Anthony Perkins' Norman Bates in 'Psycho' got the third and fourth places respectively.

The top 10 greatest characters are:
