New James Bond book `The Man Who Saved Britain` coming soon from Penguin

17-Aug-2005 • Literary

Another new James Bond book based on the literary character created by Ian Fleming over 50 years ago is due on the horizon.

According to Publishing News, Picador’s Andrew Kidd and Jonathan Galassi of Farrar Straus & Giroux have bought a book by Simon Winder, Publishing Director of Penguin Press.

"The Man Who Saved Britain" is “a funny, serious” history of post-Colonial Britain as seen through the eyes of James Bond, “part memoir, part history”.

Simon Winder previously edited a collection of quotes from Fleming's novels for 2001's "The Name's Bond, James Bond". for Penguin Books.

"The Man Who Saved Britain" may turn out to be a similar collection of quotes from Fleming's work, with a look at his world through James Bond's eyes.
