Clive Owen - playing 007 would be a `deadly` career move

22-Aug-2005 • Casino Royale

Clive Owen has long been a fan-favorite to portray James Bond #6, but according to German press, Bond just isn't "surprising" enough for Owen's taste.

Owen had these remarks in an interview on August 9 with German magazine, "Woman" {translated):

`I think that Pierce Brosnan once said that I would be a good James Bond - and since I can`t seem to get rid of this topic, there`s no way I can forgive him for the recommendation. But seriously, I want to surprise myself with each new role just as much as I want to surprise the audience. To be pinned down to a popular series would therefore be deadly.`

Thanks to `Kyvan` for the alert.
