Agent confirms Henry Cavill as member of `final four` competing for 007 role

26-Aug-2005 • Casino Royale

Jersey-born actor Henry Cavill could be the next James Bond in the long-running movie series - reports the Jersey Evening Post.

Mr Cavill is said to be on a shortlist of four contenders for the role of British secret service agent 007, who has been played in the past by actors including Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan.

Mr Cavill is currently living in Los Angeles, and his agent, Duncan Millership, said that the 22-year-old former St Michael`s pupil was indeed in the running for the role.

He said: `Henry is certainly on a list for Bond, although we are not aware how many others are on that list - so we cannot say how short it is.`
