Details on next James Bond girl revealed - now casting for actress

Now that James Bond has been cast, thoughts immediately turn to who will play opposite 007 #6 Daniel Craig.

Producer Michael G. Wilson said at today's press conference, "The frame [for casting the girl] is very wide now. We wanted to make the 007 casting first. Now it's an open casting, we're looking for someone to do a very important job in this role."

Director Martin Campbell added, "It's probably the best Bond girl role written. The two writers [Purvis & Wade] wrote it, the character Vesper Lynd remains intact from the book. We have to get a terrific actress. She has to look beautiful. She spends a lot of time with Bond, so whoever we pick, she has to have all of those attributes."

Daniel Craig was repeatedly asked about his peferences for a Bond girl. All he would reveal was that Diana Rigg from "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" was his favourite from the series so far.
