Smoking to be omitted from Casino Royale says director Martin Campbell

15-Oct-2005 • Casino Royale

James Bond will be banned from smoking in his latest film as it could have a bad influence on children — but murder and torture are just fine, Daniel Craig said yesterday after being confirmed as the new 007.

Ian Fleming's spy was a 70-a-day smoker but as an iconic hero for a PG 12 film in the 21st century, "it’s not quite the right thing", the film’s director, Martin Campbell, said yesterday - reports The Times.
