Sir Roger Moore welcomes Daniel Craig into the Bond family

Sir Roger Moore has welcomed Daniel Craig in to the James Bond family.

Quoted on his official website, Moore said: "I'm delighted to hear that Daniel Craig has been appointed the new 007."

"I know Michael and Barbara have every confidence in him, despite me suggesting they might go for a mature Bond in this film of say 78 and I share that confidence.", he added - tongue firmly in cheek.

"It's a very exciting time and I would like to wish everyone at Eon much success, and welcome Daniel to the family."
