Martin Campbell to `reinvent the wheel` with Casino Royale

02-Nov-2005 • Casino Royale

"Casino Royale" director Martin Campbell had revealed more details about plans for the film in a recent interview with a local London newspaper.

Campbell confirmed that elements of the "Batman Begins" style of franchise re-boot may be seen in the 21st James Bond film.

"The last few Bond films all made a lot of money but they got way beyond Bond, I think. It just went too far with invisible cars and all that. We want to strip it back and make it real - more From Russia With Love than Die Another Day", said Campbell.

He added, "It's like they did with Batman Begins. We can go back and reinvent the wheel. There is some fertile ground to go back to and I think we can do something different with it this time around."
