Pop singer Seal rumoured for `Solari` money laundering villain role

13-Dec-2005 • Casino Royale

MEDIA RUMOUR
English-born pop singer Seal is being lined up to play a villain in the forthcoming James Bond film - Casino Royale - according to newspaper reports.

The News Of The World (UK) first published the rumour on Sunday, linking the singer to the role of a South African money launderer called Solari.

Today, the German wing of MSN News has followed up the story with a report that Eon Productions would not comment on the rumour, fueling speculation that there may be some truth to the claim. An "insider" told the paper that Seal has auditioned several times for the role.

42 year-old Seal (real name Sealhenry Olumide Samuel) is married to Heidi Klum - who played Bond girl and femme fatale Katya Nadanova in the 2004 videogame "007: Everything or Nothing".

"Casino Royale" was originally planned to shoot in South Africa, but production has since switched to the Bahamas.

MI6 Trivia: "Solori" may be a hang-over from an early draft of the "Die Another Day" script, when the villain's weapon Icarus was originally called Solaris.
