Robbie `Zukovsky` Coltrane collects OBE from the Queen

04-Mar-2006 • Actor News

Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane has received an OBE from the Queen at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.

Coltrane, 55, is arguably best known for his brilliant starring role in TV crime drama Cracker but has also achieved Hollywood praise for roles in the Harry Potter movies and James Bond films "GoldenEye" and "The World Is Not Enough" as Valentin Zukovsky.

The Scot said today he took "it as an honour", and joked: "Once you've been doing anything for 25 years people start to notice you."

He added: "What was really nice about the OBE is that it's the first award where I didn't have to make a speech and I didn't have to sit there waiting to see if I'd won - I knew I was going to get it."
