If you've ever wanted to order a martini shaken, not stirred, then the eighth annual James Bond Gala in British Columbia, Canada, is for you - reports
BCNG.
Oceanside Rotary is putting together the popular black tie event, with this year's theme based on the early Bond film On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
"We're building excitement for what promises to be the biggest and best James Bond event ever, April 8," said Don Irvine, Oceanside Rotary president.
"We've already had tremendous support and response from the community and hope to raise over $50,000 for a major project in Nanaimo."
Beban Park will be transformed into a spectacular set, complete with a casino, martini bar, chocolate fountain and a floor show designed and directed by Lesley Lorenz.
Dinner will be catered by Swiss Chalet. Guests can then burn off the calories by hitting the dance floor to music by Vancouver's Powder Blues band. Guests will also have a light midnight buffet.
Seventy-five per cent of tables for the gala are already sold.
Tables are $1,000. Individual tickets are $100.
