ITV win UK rights to screen `Casino Royale` on the small screen, plus 007 library

21-Apr-2006 • Casino Royale

Britain's ITV network has grabbed the broadcast rights for Daniel Craig's debut as James Bond in "Casino Royale" - reports UPI.

ITV won the bidding war for Sony Pictures International and MGM's complete Bond library including "GoldenEye," "From Russia with Love" and "Dr. No" - Daily Variety reported Thursday.

Financial details were not revealed, Variety said.

"It's great to hit the ground running by clinching such an important deal for ITV in what is only my fifth week in the job," said ITV's new acquisitions chief Jay Kandola.

"Casino Royale" is scheduled to hit theaters in November and probably will not be aired on TV before late 2007, Variety said.

Thanks to `James Bond [007]` for the alert.
