Brosnan battles the red carpet media crush at Australian premiere
The Age reported yesterday on Brosnan`s seeming malaise for the media, but he took on a chirpier attitude at the Australian premiere today:
Just another day for Brosnan on the red carpet, battling the media crush at last night`s Asia-Pacific premiere of Die Another Day in Melbourne.
"I like reporters, I`ve got nothing against you," he said, but stepped away from the lights, cameras and media in action outside the Crown Entertainment Complex.
"It`s great to have an audience as big as the Bond audience," he said. "I`m very proud of this film. I think it works really well."
He may be a bit scared of journalists, but is at home playing James Bond. "This is the fourth outing. I kind of have a certain relaxation and comfort zone."
Wearing a black Armani suit with an open-necked black shirt, Brosnan is saving the trademark Bond Brioni label for the film. The A-list crowd at the launch was depleted by another celebrity event elsewhere - the opening night of Cabaret. But among the Bond guests were Kieren Perkins and wife Symantha, Michael Klim, Michael Kroger and wife Ann Peacock.
Brosnan was joined by co-stars Rosamund Pike and Rick Yune, director Lee Tamahori and co-writer Robert Wade.
Pike said of working with Brosnan: "There is a real guy in there."
