Paul Bettany admits he could never have been Bond

15-May-2006 • Actor News

Actor Paul Battany insists he was "never in the frame" to play James Bond in Casino Royale - as the superspy has always been dark-haired.

Bettany, who stars in blockbuster "The Da Vinci Code", knows his golden locks limit his roles as an actor, but he is philosophical about the snub even though blond Daniel Craig was eventually handed the role - reports PR Inside.

He says, "Never really in the frame, truth be told. Bond was never a blond like me for a start. It wasn't an option. Good luck to Dan Craig."
